All extracted data

What is this?

Exports of All extracted data include both the consensus form data and the individual reviewer form data for each included study in your review. This includes data from forms which are in progress (i.e. not yet marked as complete by the individual reviewer). Covidence will notify you when selecting this option that it may contain unblinded data.

All extracted data exports are currently available in CSV format only.

Why might this be useful?

  • If you're completing data extraction using a single reviewer workflow, you can use the All extracted data export to get each individual reviewer form and get started on your analysis.
  • Includes the extraction status (not started, in progress, complete, or NA) so you can quickly see how your team is tracking.
  • Allows you to compare reviewer responses and examine reviewer discrepancies for a more detailed analysis or for training your reviewers on how to extract data.
  • Useful for pilot testing your DE template so you can refine it prior to full-scale data extraction.

What does this look like?

Single sheet (CSV):

  • When opened in a spreadsheet, all data appears in one tab or sheet.
  • Each unique combination of an included study, an intervention, and a reviewer form appears as a row.
  • Each data field appears as a column.
  • The Study ID and title are reported in columns A and B, respectively.
  • The form (reviewer 1, reviewer 2, or consensus), reviewer's name, and extraction status (not started, in progress, complete, or NA) are reported in columns C, D, and E, respectively.

Consensus only

What is this?

Exports of Consensus only data include only the data saved in the completed consensus form for each included study in your review.

Why might this be useful?

  • This export is streamlined to include only the data you'll use for your analysis and reporting.
  • Because individual reviewer responses are not included, using this export maintains blinding.

Sheet per study (Excel):

  • The first sheet lists the study identifier and title of your review's included studies, and a separate sheet for each study's extracted data.
  • Each included study has a separate sheet which contains its extracted data.
    • To maintain blinding, data extracted by an individual reviewer is included only if consensus is completed.
  • This format is useful for manual reviewing and reading of the extracted data.
