How to join AU Library’s Covidence institutional license
You must create your Covidence user account before joining the institutional subscription. To request access to the institutional account in Covidence, you must use your current AU email address (@athabascau.ca). If you are a graduate student supporting research, you can use your AU student email (@learn.athabascau.ca).

  1. Go to https://app.covidence.org/organizations/3_rPj/signup
  2. Enter your information (using your @athabascau.ca or @learn.athabascau.ca email address) and click “Request Invitation” link
  3. If you do not have an @athabascau.ca or @learn.athabascau.ca email address, please contact library@athabascau.ca
  4. Accept the invitation in your email
  5. Log in to your existing Covidence account or sign up for a new account.
  6. If you are creating a new account do not use the SSO option, instead fill in the email and new password below option.

Creating a review using AU Library’s unlimited license
After clicking the link “Create new review” you will have the option to use your personal account license or select the AU Library account. If you do elect to use your personal account, then you will have to pay to create a functional review project.

Reviews created under the institutional license will be visible to the administrators of the AU Library Covidence account. Your personal account review(s) will only be seen by you and requires a personal account.

To create a new review using AU Library’s institutional license:

  1. Sign-in to Covidence: www.covidence.org/sign_in
  2. Select “Start a new review”
  3. Under Which account do you want to use?, select “Athabasca University”

Once you have created a review or accepted an invitation to another AU Library account review, the title will appear in a separate section on your account homepage:

Getting started with Covidence
Covidence offers short video tutorials in their Knowledge Base to help you get started. See Getting Started with Covidence and Main steps in Covidence. Logged into your Covidence account and need help? Click the question mark in the upper right-hand corner to access support.

Working with review team members from other institutions?
You can invite team members from other organizations to work on your review, but they will not be able to create new reviews of their own using AU Library’s subscription.
