How Covidence displays research integrity alerts for studies

Last updated on 13 Jul, 2026

Covidence shows research integrity alerts of studies to help reviewers make more informed decisions.

Alerts will appear on studies within Full Text Review and Data Extraction if the study:

  • Has been retracted

  • Has an expression of concern

  • Is associated with a problematic journal

These alerts are available to all Covidence users with no additional setup required. They are retrieved using LibKey and refreshed every 12 hours, so you always have an up-to-date view of a study’s quality across your review.
